There’s a weekend long theater LARP coming up.
It’s called Once Upon a Time in Tombstone, and it’s a classic Western setting with inspiration from some of the great movies and real historical figures of the genre.
It’s running October 26-28, 2012 at RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) in Troy, New York, it costs $25 for the whole weekend. You can sign up here.
From what I hear, it’s currently around half full (30 of 60ish characters.) I’ve mentioned it a few places, and I figure one more can’t hurt.
A few noteworthy points:
There are some nice, reasonably priced hotels within short walking distance from the school. (I’ve stayed at them before.) The staff can also help organize crash space for you if you need it – I’ve done this, too.
They’re planning on serving dinner, which is included in the price for the LARP.
The authors of this LARP have written a few others- I’ve only played in one by one of the authors- but they tend to be extremely popular at Intercon. Also, they say they were inspired by King’s Musketeers and Torch of Freedom, which are two of my favorite weekend long LARPs.
