NELCO 2014 Schedule

The schedule for NELCO 2014 was recently added to the NELCO website.

For those who don’t know, NELCO is the annual New England LARP Conference, and it features panels, discussions, presentations, workshops, and more, all about LARP. It’s the first of its kind in the U.S., and a really cool weekend for those of us who love talking and learning about LARP.

This year, NELCO is running July 18-20 in Chelmsford, MA, at the Radisson Hotel. (The same hotel that hosts Intercon each year.) The schedule is full of really interesting topics and a few really cool workshops, and descriptions of the topics are available to read on the website, as well.

To quote this year’s coordinator, “come party, talk about LARPs all weekend, or Build Your Own Game in a single weekend!” Registration is only $20.

About Fair Escape

I've been LARPing for years in all different styles, including both boffer and theater. I love classic LARP but I'm always happy to try something new. Once again I wish that NZ had a similar event.

BTW, I’m sure the authors will welcome the feedback on “Betrothals and Betrayals”.

The first NELCO was largely put together by a single person. Admittedly, we had financial support from NEIL, but maybe with higher admission prices (or a cheaper venue), you guys could do the same? I bet the staff of NELCO would be open to sharing the process for getting the conference off the ground. Food for thought? (You could call it NeZeLCO.)

Maybe NELCO should look into making the content available online.

There’s a small chance we won’t have enough people outside of the panels to fill a run, but if it does happen, I should see if we can get some of the discussion of B&B written up.

we’ve had someone talk about a similar event, but they keep getting distracted with running actual games 🙂

And yes, I’d love to see NELCO’s content online afterwards; it seems more practically useful than the Nordic Larp Talks.

Guess I cannot complain if stuff gets put aside for actual games. ^_^

There’s been some casual talk about getting stuff recorded. Seems unlikely this year, but I think that would be a very valuable goal for next year.
